This is the special Barry Sheene inspired livery with which Chris Vermeulen will race in this weekend's Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island.

Vermeulen's 2007 GSV-R is sporting a retro paint-scheme designed to pay homage to his mentor, and personal hero, Sheene.

The livery was inspired by the Suzuki 'XR14' that the double 500cc World Champion rode in the 1970s. Vermeulen was joined by Barry's son Freddie to uncover the bike in readiness for Friday's first free practice session.

Vermeulen also revealed his retro style race suit and new helmet design, both of which are based on Sheene's iconic images from days gone by.
