Thursday, 11th October 2007

Fiat Yamaha will run its final special livery of the 2007 MotoGP season during this weekend's Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island.

While many MotoGP fans might have preferred some form of tribute livery in memory of Norick Abe - Yamaha's triple 500GP race winner and Valentino Rossi's hero, who died last weekend in a road accident - the factory M1 team will instead appear in the red and white of the Fiat-owned Abarth car brand, which has been re-launched this year.

Earlier this season, the Fiat Yamaha Team and its riders Rossi and Colin Edwards appeared in a special '70s themed livery for the Dutch TT at Assen, to mark the re-launch of the Fiat '500'.

The Abarth livery will be on display at 9.45am in the Phillip Island pit lane, just before the start of Friday's first free practice session.
