Frenchman Mike di Meglio has taken provisional pole for Sunday's 125cc Portuguese Grand Prix.

The Ajo Motorsport rider set a best time of 1min 47.990secs to stay 0.367secs clear of Jack & Jones rider Nicolas Terol, with the fellow Aprilias of Michael Ranseder and Simone Corsi completing the provisional front row.

Tommy Koyama was thrown spectacularly over the handlebars of his KTM but still claimed a Friday fifth.
