MotoGP » Capirossi: Rain will be awful.

Saturday, 3rd May 2008

Loris Capirossi is hoping that race day rain won't undo all his hard work, after qualifying a Suzuki best of sixth for Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix.

"It has definitely paid off as we were consistently inside the top-five during the qualifying session on race tyres, and on the qualifiers it is a lot better to be right up there. It will still be hard work from the third row, but Suzuki had a good result here last year [when John Hopkins was third] and we know we can be competitive. I'm looking forward to the race and I'll certainly be giving it my best!" he vowed.

"It's no secret that Chris has sometimes struggled to get to his full potential in qualifying and we were all pleased that today he pushed as hard as possible - a few hundredths of a second certainly makes a difference to your grid position," said Denning.

"Whatever the conditions tomorrow, we are looking forward to a good race; we know our guys will be giving their maximum effort."
