The Australian's fastest day two time was set with a qualifying tyre, but he was just 0.049secs slower on race tyres and finished 0.755secs ahead of nearest rival
Valentino Rossi.
Rossi, who won Sunday's race, also tried some
Bridgestone qualifying tyres on Tuesday, but set his best time of the day on race tyres.
Repsol Honda's
Dani Pedrosa quit the test on Monday due to a lack of improvement from his Michelin tyres and only eleven riders were present on the second and final day.
