MotoGP » Kawasaki: Garry can get the job done.

Saturday, 18th October 2003

Garry McCoy may be set to leave the Kawasaki team at the end of the year, but today he proved his motivation is as high as ever when he put the ZX-RR into a best ever twelfth for his home GP at Phillip Island.

"This is a day I'd rather forget," admitted the former World Supersport champion. "I'm never happy being at the back and things didn't turn out after such a positive day yesterday. The wind upset my rhythm and it was hard to get the bike to turn in how I like it. I just couldn't get on the pace to go any faster. Our race package looks consistent, but I've given myself a bit of challenge to score some points at Phillip Island. Racing here is always competitive, so I just hope tomorrow produces something better for me."

"Andrew has been doing consistent times with his race set-up and he has been working hard on that all weekend, so even though he would prefer to start closer to the front, I think he has chance of scoring points in his home race," maintained Eckl.
