2006 Remains as a Ducati/Bridgestone test rider.

2005 With no Honda riders using Bridgestone tyres in 2005, Itoh moves to the newly formed Ducati Tyre Test Team, to develop Bridgestone rubber especially for the Italian outfit. Gets chance to make Ducati race debut, in Turkish Grand Prix, after Loris Capirossi is injured in Australia. Qualifies 15th but is excluded from race for failing to serve stop-go penalty for jumping start.

2003 - 2004 Bridgestone test rider using Honda machinery.

2002 Test rider for Honda/Bridgestone. Races as HRC wild-card at Suzuka season-opener - finishing 4th in wet race. Races again at Phillip Island on an Erv-Kanemoto NSR500 at end of year, but doesn't finish.

1987-1999 500GPs with Suzuki (1987) and then Honda. Best year 1995 when he finishes 5th in championship. Total of six 500cc podiums.
