Olivier Jacque Career highlights:

2007 Promoted to full time MotoGP race rider for Kawasaki, alongside young countryman Randy de Puniet, after Shinya Nakano moves to Honda. Kawasaki's first 800cc motorcycle is impressive, but Jacque struggles to readapt to the intensity of being a full time racer again and, after accidents and injuries, steps back to the role of test rider from Donington Park onwards. He is replaced by Anthony West.

2006 Continues as test and wild-card rider for Kawasaki Racing Team.

2005 Called up by Kawasaki Racing Team after Alex Hofmann breaks wrist in a parade accident at round two, Estoril. Makes debut for team in soaking wet Chinese Grand Prix next time out - and stuns by finishing second! His and Kawasaki's best MotoGP finish. Is rewarded with full time test and wild-card role.

2004 Loses Yamaha ride and, with no other competitive full time offers, signs up to ride in GPs for wild-cards Moriwaki Racing. Best finish 11th in Japan.

2003 Third season of MotoGP with Gauloises Tech 3. Best finish of 4th in French Grand Prix on way to 12th in points.

2002 Stays with Gauloises Tech 3 riding a YZR500 for most of the year before getting a YZR-M1 for the final few races. Finishes 10th in championship on 81 points. Highlight is pole position in Germany.

2001 Moves up to the 500cc World Championship with the Yamaha Tech 3 team - finishes 14th with 59 points.

2000 Wins 250cc World Championship with 279 points.

1999 Seventh in the 250cc World Championship despite early season crash that eliminates him from six rounds.

1998 Fifth in the 250cc World Championship.

1997 Fourth in the 250cc World Championship.

1996 Third in the 250cc World Championship. Takes first 250cc pole and fastest lap (NED), first podium (GER) and first win (BRA).

1995 Tenth in the 250cc World Championship. Also took IRTA rookie of the year award and top privateer on a production Honda.

1994 Second in the 250cc European Championship.
Also makes 250cc World Championship debut (AUS).

1993 20th in the 250cc European Championship.
