Juan Montoya was able to show a clean pair of heels to his fellow single seater converts as he finished in 17th position although both Sam Hornish Jr and Patrick Carpentier both made it home safely in 30th and 33rd places respectively. Jacques Villeneuve joined Earnhardt Jr, Edwards and Kahne on the DNF list and was classified 41st.

Nine months of long hours, late nights and hard work comes to a climax next weekend in Miami where the eyes of the racing world will be looking on Johnson, Knaus and the rest of a team now regarded as THE benchmark in NASCAR.
