Busch blooms two days late.

Wednesday, 22nd August 2007

Penske team leader takes second win in three weeks.

Although Busch remained twelfth in the Cup standings, he extended the gap between himself and closest rival Dale Earnhardt Jr after the Budweiser Chevrolet driver managed only a twelfth-place finish at MIS. Some 163 points now separate the pair, leaving Junior with a mountain to climb in the next three rounds. Jeff Burton, Kyle Busch, Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick fill the remaining Chase places but all finished down the order in Michigan, in 13th, 14th, 17th and 15th places respectively.

After his controversial outing at Watkins Glen, Juan Montoya was only 26th on Tuesday, leaving David Ragan to take rookie honours in 18th.
