Jimmie Johnson overcame his recent patch of bad luck with third place while Ron Fellows moved passed Robby Gordon in the closing stages to take what eventually became fourth place in the #96 Hall of Fame Racing Chevrolet. Gordon completed the top five after starting 29th while Truex Jr held on for sixth position. Kyle Busch recovered from his earlier spin to take seventh with Edwards crossing the line in eighth place, one place ahead of a dismayed Gordon.
Greg Biffle rounded out the top ten while Kurt Busch fought his way back up to eleventh. Boris Said finished 14th for the #21 Wood Brothers team which was enough to push the #21 ahead of Dave Blaney's #22 Bill Davis Racing outfit into the all important 35th position in the unofficial owner points table.
Carpentier finished 22nd in his first taste of Nextel Cup action with Harvick classified 36th, Montoya 39th and Earnhardt Jr 42nd with just four more races to go before the Chase for the Championship begins.
