Stewart, who earlier in the race dropped to 37th position after his #20 Joe Gibbs Racing crew made some major set-up adjustments, caught a piece f the 13th and final caution period on lap 371 when Ward Burton, Ricky Rudd and Sterling Marlin got together and then had to fight a rearguard action until the chequered flag.
After losing out to Busch Stewart also had to give best to Ryan Newman after several pieces of contact between the two and the recovering Harvick en-route to an eighth place finish while Clint Bowyer and the leading Ford of Matt Kenseth rounded out the top ten.
Dave Blaney was the top Toyota finisher in eleventh place despite a late spin while Dale Earnhardt Jr had been challenging for the lead until he was spun around by Jeff Green and dropped to a 13th place finish. Paul Menard was the best placed rookie in 16th position while Juan Montoya finished 26th after contact with Newman and Johnny Sauter sent him into the outside wall on lap 118.
Jeff Burton's title challenge suffered a hit when his engine expired on lap 139 leaving him 43rd and last while Kasey Kahne's horrible year continued when he smacked the wall and was left down in 40th position.
Next weekend the Car of Tomorrow takes up the challenge of the Darlington Raceway, the longest CoT track to date and a place where Hendrick Motorsport will be looking to make it five out of five.
