Mike Wallace to replace younger brother Kenny in the #88 Ford this weekend at Talladega.

Outgoing NASCAR team boss Robert Yates has swapped his current replacement driver, veteran Kenny Wallace, for his older brother Mike ahead of this weekend's UAW-Ford 500 at Talladega as Ricky Rudd continues to recuperate from injury.

Middle Wallace brother Mike, who finished fourth in this year's Daytona 500, will step into the #88 Ford for this weekend's trip to the famed Talladega Superspeedway as the soon-to-retire Rudd contemplates a return to action next weekend at the Lowe's Motor Speedway for what would be the final five races of his storied career.

Rudd, who injured his wrist in a crash at the California Speedway last month had been replaced by Mike's younger brother Kenny Wallace for the races at Richmond, New Hampshire, Dover and Kansas.

However much like Rudd, who has struggled to make the #88 Ford a competitive proposition this year, the driver more commonly known as ‘Herman' could finish no better than 23rd in any of his four starts with the ailing team and now Yates has plumbed for restrictor plate expert Mike at the track that could provide RYR with a brief high point in what has been another disappointing year.
