David Reutimann was sixth on the timesheets and has already secured his place in Sunday's race alongside his teammate Waltrip and veteran Joe Nemechek but for Brian Vickers, Patrick Carpentier, Dale Jarrett and surprise package Stanton Barrett, who completed the top ten it will truly be a case of ‘go or go home' on Thursday.

Kenny Wallace and Boris Said, two more non-qualified drivers, were 12th and 13th respectively with Sam Hornish Jr a creditable 16th and Dario Franchitti an equally pleasing 22nd.

Wednesday morning practice leader Kyle Busch was 28th fastest, two places behind Jacques Villeneuve but four spots ahead of Bud Shootout winner Dale Earnhardt Jr.
