Auto Club 500 to conclude on Monday after NASCAR loses weather battle.

Weather permitting the Cup race will restart at 10am local time on Monday morning with the Nationwide Series Stater Bros 300 following the conclusion of the Auto Club 500. Therefore the drivers and teams will have just a precious few hours to rest and recuperate before running the concluding portion of the race with 12 drivers then having to dive straight into their Nationwide cars for another 300 miles.

Polesitter Jimmie Johnson will lead the Cup field to the green flag followed by Travis Kvapil, Kyle Busch, Greg Biffle, Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon, who had dominated the first part of what is turning into a chaotic affair.
