Carl Edwards and Clint Bowyer rounded out the top ten with David Ragan a mature eleventh, Kevin Harvick 12th, Juan Montoya 13th and rookie Regan Smith a seasons-best 14th. The performances by McMurray and Smith elevated their respective teams into the promised land of the top 35 in team points at the expense of Sam Hornish Jr and David Reutimann. Hornish Jr finished 28th while Reutimann retired and was classified 39th in his first race in the #44 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota formerly occupied by Dale Jarrett.

Dario Franchitti finished a seasons-best 22nd and moves to within 22 points of the 35th placed team in the owner points while Michael McDowell was 26th in his Sprint Cup Series debut.

Kyle Busch, who came into the race leading the Sprint Cup standings, was one of many drivers forced behind the pit wall for repairs during a typically hard fought short-track battle and finished 38th.
