After 14 straight seasons of winning at least two races per year, four-time Cup champion Jeff Gordon ended the 2008 campaign without a victory.

Nevertheless, Gordon was in a positive frame of mind after finishing fourth Sunday night at Homestead.

“I have to thank my guys on this team for an awesome year,” he said. “It wasn't from lack of effort that we didn't win any races or be more competitive in the championship.

“Coming from 37th (Gordon's starting position Sunday), I couldn't be more proud of all my guys. We showed what we're made of, and we're not going to give up. We didn't win a race this year, but I'm really excited about 2009. We've got a lot of great things happening.”
