Former Champ Car and IRL front-runner Patrick Carpentier enjoyed a successful Homestead test as he put the #11 CITGO Pontiac Riley second fastest on the opening day and fourth fastest on combined times.

"This is a great team to drive for,” continued Carpentier. “They are very professional in their approach to racing, and they come ready with a well prepared car. The car was great coming out of the trailer. We tested some components, but it did not change much as the car was already well balanced. It's quite a treat compared to my last season in IRL where the package was not competitive."
