Tim Bridgman has moved into the lead of the 2007 Visma Formula Palmer Audi Championship for the first time after taking a dominant fourth victory of the season in Round 10 at Brands Hatch.

Starting from pole position, the 22-year-old got away well and was never troubled throughout the 30 laps of the Indy circuit, taking victory from just over a second from Jason Moore.

"It was a pretty straightforward win, but it is a very significant win for me with [Luciano] Bacheta down in tenth" said Bridgman.

Moore took his best car racing finish to date with second. He lost second at the start to Tom Bradshaw but kept on Tom's tail, making his move into Paddock on lap 12 and easing away from the leading pack.

"There's no doubt that it's a fantastic result for me - it's good to follow up a strong qualifying result with another podium, and it's another step in my aim of scoring a first win this year."

Behind Bridgman and Moore, however, an enthralling three-way battle for the last podium spot went down to the wire. Clearly struggling for grip, Bradshaw had to use the whole track and more to hold off Jack Clarke, which allowed Stefan Wilson to close in.

Despite his defensive efforts throughout the second half of the race, just one small mistake undid all Bradshaw's hard work as Clarke dived up the inside at Clearways on the penultimate lap. Wilson followed through at Paddock on the final lap, but Bradshaw saved some face by re-passing Wilson at Druids to hang on to fourth.

"That was a fantastic battle!" said Clarke after netting his second consecutive podium. "I could see he was making mistakes, but he couldn't quite hang on and I took advantage of it. My form's really starting to come to me now and I reckon my first win is just around the corner" said the 19-year-old.

After Bradshaw and Wilson, Dominik Jackson scored sixth place despite a hair-raising grass-track moment at high speed down Cooper Straight. Matt Hamilton took seventh, recovering from a sluggish start to pass Richard Kent into Paddock, with Kent having to settle for eighth.
