Tom Boardman is to make a return to the SEAT Cupra Championship from the next round of the season at Oulton Oark, which takes place next weekend.
The 2005 champion, who has competed in the Spanish series since clinching the crown, will compete in the remainder of the season as he dovetails the final six meetings of the season with his Spanish campaign.
"Obviously the championship is not the goal with only six meetings remaining, but I'm hoping I can get some good results,” the Triple R driver said. “Hopefully we will be competitive from the start, but we know that we will have to dial the car into the UK conditions, something some of the other drivers have clearly done looking at the lap times."
Boardman's last race in the Spanish championship was a support to the WTCC at Pau, where an impressive performance during the wet test session, gave left him hoping for a solid result on the tricky street circuit. However an early incident at the tight hairpin left him with an over-heating car and damaged steering in Saturday evening's race, with the resulting retirement leaving him at the back of the field for Sunday's race.
An excellent start and some impressive early pace, which netted third fastest lap despite having to contend with traffic, meant that he ended the race twelfth.
