BRC: Preview - Wales Rally GB.

Thursday, 23rd November 2006

With the MSA British Rally Championship coming to an end and despite the fact the overall title honours have already been wrapped up, this will in no way dilute the competition for Wales Rally GB, as the fight for second overall will go down to the wire.

Re-joining the fray after missing the last few rounds due to international commitments, and certainly likely to set the cat amongst the pigeons, is David Higgins. As the 2004 British Rally champion, and a multiple production class champion David, brother of 2006 champion Mark Higgins, knows how tough the competition will be but he is still confident that he can put on a good showing in his privately entered SG Petch Motorsport-run Mitsubishi Evo IX.

"Jonny and Gwyndaf have to be the benchmarks really, but if I can be there or thereabouts I’ll be well pleased," he noted.

The 2006 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship will compete over exactly the same route as the World Rally Championship finale and with the competition so close it is well worth the wait once the World Rally Cars have gone through to see the cream of the British Rally Championship battle it out over world famous stages such as Halfway, Port Talbot and Epynt.
