Q&A: Gwyndaf Evans - EXCLUSIVE.

British Rally Championship favourite Gwyndaf Evans achieved his 2006 ambition on last weekend’s Wales Rally GB, by clinching the prestigious Mitsubishi Evo Challenge trophy in spectacular style.

GE:
Absolutely. That’s an added bonus.

Q:
Looking back over the year, what would you say were your high and low points?

GE:
Victory in Ulster was fantastic because I won the rally outright on speed. I was going quite strong on the Jim Clark too, but I had differential problems on the Manx so that was pretty low.

Q:
Now you have the works-backed Mitsubishi drive next year, how much of a boost will that give you?

GE:
To not have to worry about finding sponsorship, and get a works car and such a good overall package is obviously a lot of pressure removed, but equally I’m now going to try to capitalise and make the most of the opportunity.

Q:
So it’s game on for 2007?
