Crash.net:
Have you got any testing planned prior to the Rally Yorkshire?
RS:
We have got a shakedown the week of the rally, which will allow us to familiarise ourselves with gravel again. Obviously today is good as well, to get some extra time in the car - any time in the car is good seat time. We are looking forward to that.
Crash.net:
As you say you are up to third in the championship, it is going to be quite difficult to maintain that isn’t it?
RS:
It is going to be difficult. Gwnydaf Evans is only a point behind us, so we are definitely going to be looking over our shoulders. Gwyndaf is always very quick and we are not going to beat him in a straight line. But we have got a good reliable car, our team has done a good job and so with consistency and good pace we will see where we come out.

Looking at the BRC as a whole, do you think it has been a good year for the championship?
RS:
I think it has been a good season. It has been very competitive. It is good to have the works teams again and the tyre deal has obviously been a great leveller. It has definitely been a more level playing field between the different competitors. I have found it to be a good thing.
Crash.net:
At the start of the season the decision to move to a control tyre wasn’t popular with everyone. Has it really been a good move then?
RS:
Like I say, I think it has been a good move for the championship in terms of levelling the playing field. Obviously for myself I had a tyre deal for a number of years before that and from a cost point of view, yes my costs have gone up, but at the same time we have been able to achieve better results. I have mixed feelings then on it but all in all it has probably been a good thing.
Crash.net:
I guess if you are getting better results that should attract new sponsors. So short term pain and long term gain…
RS:
I hope so - maybe it is a good investment.

What are your thoughts on the BRC calendar for 2008, which is pretty much the same as this season?
