EE:
Of course, as you say, it is a World championship event and it is the first for me. It is going to be a massive learning curve. The objective has got to be to finish and to gain as much experience as possible, both in terms of doing pace-notes and the actual driving. We just want to soak that all in really.
Crash.net:
How daunting is it to be doing the same event as your dad? Is there any extra pressure being the son of Gwyndaf?
EE:
There is pros and cons. It is sometimes difficult when he is out to concentrate on his own rally and not have him to turn to for advice and things. But on the whole I don’t find it too bad.
Crash.net:
Were do you hope to be next year? Do you just want to build on this year and the experience you have gained?
EE:
Yeah, it will be important to build on the experience gained. We have had some experience in the car and we really need to prove our speed in it now. But what we are going to do next season I am not quite sure yet. We will have to go back and work on that one.
Crash.net:
What about your aims more long term - is it the WRC maybe or to emulate some of your dad achievements?
EE:
Of course that is the aim for every young driver I suppose [to get to the WRC]. It would be nice to reach that level but it is a lot of hard work. We will try.
