The lads both have natural flair which is a great starting point. They have both been heavily involved in motorsport and rallying since they were very young and have both immersed themselves into the mission to succeed.
But apart from flair, what we have been looking for is youngsters who have many more to their character from commitment, to attention to detail, a willingness to grasp opportunities and the ability to absorb the massive amount of information needed to succeed.
Already this season the drivers have been involved in learning more about the cars, working with co-drivers, meeting with sponsors, mechanical sympathy and ensuring they are physically and mentally fit to tackle a long season.
And of course they are constantly being monitored throughout the year as they react to suggestions, jump at opportunities to improve themselves – and crucially learn from the mistakes they will undoubtedly make.
It's a complicated business but no one said it would be easy to become world rally champion - there is a long road ahead but we are enjoying travelling along it.
And that road takes us back to Ireland later this month for the second round of the Fiesta SportingTrophy.
