TEG Sport, the team that ran Higgins in 2007, returns with Wyn Humphries. Wyn was the rookie revelation of 2007, leading the championship at the half way mark before bad luck tampered his end of season charge. Whilst the team have promised to have a pair of brand new Subaru N14's, a lack of available donor cars means the young Welshman will begin his second season in the BRC on board his old N12. Wyn is joined in the team by the highly rated Swede Patrik Flodin, who could be a dark horse for championship honours.
Another foreigner to use the British Rally Championship to help further his career is PWRC regular Juho Hanninen. The Rally Sweden Production class winner will not be able to contest the full championship due to other commitments but is still registered for points none the less.
Other top drivers to keep an eye out for include 2003 British champion David Higgins who returns in a brand new Subaru Impreza N14. Having only received his new car less than a fortnight before the opening round he faces a steep learning curve in Kielder.
His team-mate in the TQ-backed FX Motor Sports squad is Kuwait resident Hugh Evans, who will also compete in one of the new spec Subarus.
Bishop Stortford based privateer Rob Swann also intends to lay his hands on one of these cars but is only expected to receive his after the Pirelli and so will resort to his N12 for now. Rob spearheads a three-car team from Revolution Wheels with series returnee Karl Simmons and former BRC Super 1600 champion James Wozencroft making the big step up to a four wheel drive for his 2008 campaign, completing the line up from the Geoff Jones Motorsport-run camp.
