GEMsport boss and former British Rally champion Gwyndaf Evans gives Crash.net the low-down on the importance of those behind the scenes.
For anyone involved in rallying the importance of the whole team cannot be underestimated. While it is the drivers and co-drivers who are out there on the stages putting in the times, rallying truly is a team sport and one which involves a whole army of dedicated supporters.
And as we bid to create a ladder of opportunity to take to the world rally stage it has been so important for us to form a really strong team, a band of people who can be relied upon day and night to ensure that not only are the cars ready for action but that breakfast is ready at the crack of dawn and for everybody to know where they should be at any given time.
So this month I thought we would take a look at some of the people who are already ensuring that GEMsport is a force to be reckoned with as we take part in the Fiesta SportingTrophy championships in the UK and Ireland.
For 2008 Elfyn Evans and Gareth Roberts are in one of the
hustings.com Fiestas with Meilyr Evans and Andrew Edwards as team-mates.
As team boss and mentor I am involved every step of the way from ensuring that the cars are ready for action through to motivating the drivers and working with a wide range of companies, potential sponsors and of course the media.
