Barry Johnson came in fourth, one place ahead of Rory Galligan, who took the Production class victory, 4 minutes or so up on his nearest rival, Robert Swann, who was seventh overall.
On his way to victory, Galligan suffered only one puncture. "It was a matter of keeping out of trouble," said Galligan, "keeping away from the edges and picking a line down the middle of the road. But that puts me back into contention after my non-score on the Pirelli."
Swann was rather more unfortunate and in company with his rivals lost serious amounts of time with punctures, none more so than Lorna Smith who had seven punctures during the event.
"We had to stop and change three of those in the stages but at least we kept going and salvaged some valuable points," said Smith who has retained the Production lead, despite finishing 18th overall.
Brian O'Mahoney took the S1600 category in eighth [although he was the only entry in the 'junior' class] with Andrew Leece and Shaun Woffinden rounding out the top ten, the latter the F2 winner.
In total 19 cars were classified at the finish, 24 having started the event.
Among the retirees, most noticeably was David Higgins, who crashed out on Friday night. Higgins was detained in Dumfries Royal Infirmary overnight as a precaution but was released shortly after 9.00 am on Saturday morning. His co-driver, Daniel Barrett was unscathed.
The next event is the
Jim Clark Rally, which runs from July 8-9.
