After scoring its maiden class win on the recent North Humberside Rally, Ginetta G20 GTR pilot Marcel Freling and his co-driver Karen Robinson head to the Somerset Stages in a confident mood and are looking to extend their class lead in the championship standings.

The Ginetta, a radical new project in British Rallying, has undergone a substantial test and development program throughout the 2007 BTRDA rallying season and Freling finally reaped the dividends with a fine class win on the North Humberside Rally in March.

This win, coupled with a strong result on the snowy Wyedean Rally earlier in the season has moved the Ginetta into the lead of class A5, tied on points with James Alexander.

“The win on the North Humberside was great,” noted Freling, “but we still have a fair bit of work to do before we can regularly challenge for class wins. But at least we can see the fruits of our labour now.”
