Henri Grehan heads south to Swansea this weekend for the fifth round of the 2007 BTRDA Rally Championship – the Pro Art Signs Red Dragon Rally – intent on putting his bad luck from last time out in Somerset firmly behind him.
The 20-year-old, co-driven by Shane Bowen in his Plas Lime-backed Ford Escort MkII, experienced a troubled Somerset Stages when the pair suffered the frustration of three punctures in a single stage. A bent control arm on the next stage did not help matters either, but they nevertheless persevered to bring the car home sixth in class.
What's more, the points gained by their determined effort have moved the duo into the battle for the class lead, just one point adrift of B11 pace-setters Stephen French and Steven Finch.
“I always have bad luck on the Somerset Stages,” Ludlow ace Grehan lamented, “but the main thing is I collected more points! I'm now really looking forward to the Red Dragon. It's a great event and perfect Escort country, so hopefully we'll be able to put on a good show this weekend!”
The 2007 Pro Art Signs Red Dragon Rally takes place on Saturday, 19 May with the cars tackling such famous Wales Rally GB stages as Rheola, Resolven and the ever-popular Walters Arena.
