Julian Reynolds looked all set for a triumphant victory on the Severn Valley Rally at the weekend until a split turbo pipe robbed his Evo IX of power and dropped the Narbeth resident down the order.

Although Reynolds failed to finish the previous round, once you take into account dropped scores (each crew is scored on their best seven results) he is still very much in the thick of the fight for the Evo title, the prize of which is a ‘works drive' with Mitsubishi in the BRC the next year.
