After opting to skip the last round of the 2007 BTRDA Rally Championship the revolutionary Ginetta G20 GTR returns for the Quinton Stages this Saturday.
Piloted by Marcel Freling, and his co-driver Karen Robinson, the A5 class leaders are looking forward to resuming their championship battle on this Mid Wales based event.
Freling and Robinson were all set to contest round six, the Dukeries Rally, but after heavy overnight rain flooded the service area and seeped into the car, they took the decision to take the round as a dropped score.
“When we arrived at the car in the morning of the rally it was in nearly two feet of water and we didn't know if the engine had ingested water,” explained Freling.
“Also the condensation on the inside of the screen would have made visibility pretty poor so we decided to call it quits and fight another day.”
The Ginetta will arrive at the Quinton Stages with new suspension which should help with the handling, improving consistency over the longer stages and as a result Freling and Robinson are confident of a good showing on the Llandovery-based event.
