Revolution Wheels general manager Warren McKiernan made an impressive rally co-driving debut when he guided British Rally Championship regular Rob Swann to both the production class win and an overall podium finish on last weekends Tempest Rally.

After Swann's engine let go on the recent International Rally of Yorkshire he needed to put some mileage on the new engine in his Geoff Jones Motorsport run Subaru Impreza N12 and chose to contest the Tempest Rally.

He then invited long time supporter McKiernan along for the ride.

“Because of my business commitments I don't get the chance to attend many rallies but when Rob suggested I co-drive for him this weekend I could not turn down the offer,” he said. “I must say a very big thank you to everyone who has helped me, especially Pauline Gullick who has put up with my barrage of questions over the past few weeks.”

The day could not have gone better for the Revolution pair as they were constantly well inside the top sex overall, including a string of top three fastest times, trading seconds with the mightier world rally cars around them.

Apart from loosing the sump guard through Longmoor 2, and having to back off to avoid any damage, the pair enjoyed a trouble free run through the military grounds just south of London.

“Today went really well for us,” Swann said. “I needed to put some mileage on the new engine, which performed faultlessly; and Warren was great. He's a really fast learner and between us we did a good job. I, as a driver, have gained a lot of respect for the amount of work that a co-driver does, having helped Warren out today. Now we prepare for Wales Rally GB. I'm really looking forward to this one.”

Swann will be re-joined by regular co-driver Darren Garrod for the season finale, Wales Rally GB. This event sees the pair head to Cardiff on November 29th still in with a shot at the British Rally Championship title.
