Guy Wilks will announce his plans for 2008 at the Autosport International Show on Thursday.
Wilks won the 2007 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship last season and the Brit is expected to defend his crown in 2008, sticking with the 'works' Mitsubishi UK team.
"My plans are shaping up quite well," he told
Crash.net Radio before Christmas. "I have got some opportunities for next year in the British championship, but I'm working hard on the world championship as well.
"I think we should be able to confirm something either right before Christmas or not long after. Hopefully we should know a lot more by then although in motorsport you never really know until everything is signed, sealed and delivered. It's early days but things are looking encouraging."
Phillip Morrow meanwhile will take over the seat held last year by Gwyndaf Evans, his reward for winning the 2007 Mitsubishi Ralliart Evolution Challenge.
The Mitsubishi UK team will officially confirm its plans on Thursday at 10 am at the NEC in Birmingham.
Several other announcements related to the BRC will also take places at the Show, including the launch of David Higgins' new rally team, FX Motor Sports [see separate story], while inaugural Pirelli Star Driver winner Darren Gass will be on hand to unveil the prize car in which he will contest the 2008 BRC.
Evans too will be attendance to promote the Junior Rallying programme and to launch GEMsport – 'a brand new rally team designed to produce the UK's next world rally champion'.
