Cousins Neil Harrold and Dennis Sanford aim to have fun whilst raising money for the MS Trust when they take to the start of the Get Connected Wyedean Forest Rally at the wheel of their Space Creator backed Subaru GC8 this weekend.
The Motorsport crazy relatives have contested a variety of rallies in the past, with a number of class podiums to their credit, but after an absence of a number of years the Sciotli Chocolates-backed pair are under no illusions for 2008.
“The MS Trust is a very worthy charity and we have decided to raise money through a Just Giving page throughout the season,” said Harrold. “We both missed rallying over the past few years and decided that the car would be a great platform with which to promote the charity.
“The BTRDA is a highly competitive series and both of us are pretty rusty. Our main aim for the new season is to concentrate on the English rounds of the BTRDA rally series with Wales Rally GB targeted as the year ending objective.
“We are still learning the car, as we only purchased it towards the end of last year. It has had a total rebuild over the winter and so hopefully the car will be fully reliable. Now it's just up to us to get it to the end!”
Kent based Neil, 32, and Lincoln resident Dennis, who turns 33 two days before the rally, aim to contest up to six rallies throughout the year, budget dependant, with the Chepstow based Wyedean Forest Rally being the first event.
