We will probably look at two-wheel drive then - either the Citroen C2-R2 Cup or the Suzuki Swift Sport Cup. If we could get a one-off drive in either of those and put in a good performance hopefully that we allow us to get some support. Then we can get into a four-wheel drive and put in some more good performances. That is what we would aim to do.

What are your thoughts on the inaugural Suzuki Swift Sport Cup?
MB:
It is a fantastic place to start rallying and it is going to be very close with all the cars being evenly matched. It should be a really close championship.
Crash.net:
How tough has it been trying to get the backing together to compete in the BRC again this year?
MB:
It is always difficult. You get knocked back so many times it is hard to keep on knocking on people's doors and asking for support. But you just have to persevere with it and hope that someone will come through for you.

Was it a big blow to miss out on the Pirelli Star Drive?
MB:
It was. It was a fantastic opportunity and I am sure Darren Gass [who won it] is going to take the opportunity with both hands this year in the BRC with the Mitsubishi. Obviously that is where I would love to have been, but as it was it wasn't to be.
Crash.net:
If you can't do all the rounds in the BRC this season, are you still hoping to take in a few selected events?
MB:
We are hoping to sell the MG and that will give us some budget to look at doing something else. But if we can't sell the car, yeah, if we can get a little bit of budget together to do a couple of rounds it would be nice to just get out there and keep my hand in.
Crash.net:
Have you got anything else lined-up if that doesn't come off?
MB:
Actually we have got a deal lined-up in Ireland next year with South West College, Omagh to run an Evo in the Global Group Irish Tarmac Rally Championship. Nothing is definite yet - but it is all looking good on the Irish front. Hopefully we can get out there towards the end of the year and get some experience of what it is like over there for 2009.
