Crash.net:
That would be quite a different challenge wouldn't it, as unlike the BRC, as the title of the series suggest, the ITRC is all on asphalt?
MB:
Yeah, but as you say it is split in the BRC, so you do get three very long and tough tarmac rallies. I have got a few years experience of those, which includes the Ulster and that is a round of the Global Group Irish Tarmac Rally Championship as well. I pretty much know what to expect out there. It is pretty fast and furious and hopefully I will be able to get some good results.
Crash.net:
Will you be able to do any events out there before 2009?
MB:
As I say if we can get out there towards the end of the year, possibly in some national events, just to get a bit of experience over in Ireland it would be good. It would be useful to see how it works and what the competition is like.
Crash.net:
How do you think the BRC is looking this year?
MB:
It is looking really good. I think the entries are up quite a lot on last year. Obviously with the new Suzuki Swift Sport Cup starting as well it is really promising for the championship. If I don't get a deal sorted to be driving on the Pirelli I will certainly be up in Carlisle having a look and seeing what is going on.
Crash.net:
What have you made of the WRC?
MB:
It's been a fantastic start. The first couple of rounds have been really good and it seems to have been shook up a bit this year with Marcus Gronholm retiring. Chris Atkinson has been doing well for Subaru too and it is looking good for a close battle all year.
