Matt Beebe has revealed that he will probably compete in the Global Group Irish Tarmac Rally Championship next year.

The 2007 Tesco 99 Octane MSA British Rally Championship R2 class title winner has yet to be together a deal for this season and while his plans to take in the BRC are by no means over [see separate story], he is already looking to 2009 and things are looking much more positive on that front.

Indeed speaking exclusively to Crash.net Radio recently he revealed that he already has something virtually sorted.

"We have got a deal lined-up in Ireland next year with South West College, Omagh to run an Evo in the Global Group Irish Tarmac Rally Championship," he stated. "Nothing is definite yet - but it is all looking good on the Irish front.

"Hopefully we can get out there towards the end of the year - possibly in some national events - and get some experience of what it is like over there for 2009.

"It would be useful to see how it works in Ireland - and of course what the competition is like."

Asked what it would be like just to compete on asphalt, Beebe added that while he would probably miss driving on gravel, he has good experience on the 'black stuff', as the BRC compromises three tarmac and three gravel events.

"You do get three very long and tough tarmac rallies in the BRC and I have got a few years experience of those, which includes the Ulster and that is a round of the Global Group Irish Tarmac Rally Championship as well," he added.

"I pretty much know what to expect out there. It is pretty fast and furious and hopefully I will be able to get some good results," he concluded.
