Phillip Morrow took the victory on the Station Garage Mitsubishi Granite City Rally on Saturday, the third round in the 2008 County Saab Scottish Rally Championship.
The Irishman led from start to finish in his Mitsubishi Lancer WRC car, ending the event a comfortable 1 minute 22 seconds ahead of Aberdeen's Dave Weston in his Ford Focus WRC.
However, as neither Morrow or Weston are registered for the County Saab Scottish series it was left to David Bogie and Jimmy Girvan to fight it out for championship honours in the forests south of Aberdeen.
Bogie, desperate to get his campaign back on track after rolling his car on the previous round, looked set for another disappointing day when his Toyota Corolla WRC picked up a puncture on the second stage, losing him more than a minute.
The advantage went to Girvan, but Bogie stormed back up the leader-board and, by the end of the fifth and penultimate stage, he led the Inverness driver by just one second.
Girvan made up the deficit on the final test in his Subaru and finished in a dead heat with the Dumfries rally ace, but under tie-break rules Bogie took the maximum Scottish championship points and third overall having been the fastest of the pair on the first stage.
Team-mates Mike Faulkner and Steven Clark meanwhile, finished fifth and sixth respectively in their Mitsubishi Evos, with the latter taking the Group N production class win.
In the two-wheel drive category, Yorkshireman Steve Bannister took top honours in his Ford Escort Mk2, finishing 14th overall.
