Nick Kenny will dust off his race suit and return to competition on this weekends Mid Wales Stages, six months after his last rally outing resulted in a dominant overall victory.

The 20-year-old has not competed since winning the Telford Winter Stages back in February but is confident that a recent successful test session with mentor Geoff Jones will help ensure he's on the pace from the word go on Sunday. On the other hand Kenny's regular co-driver George Gwynn should be right up to speed, having just contested 3 events in as many weeks.

Whilst Kenny has been focused on looking after his young son and concentrating on the family business, Gwynn has been busy co-driving for Jason Pritchard in the British Championship.

"I'm really looking forward to this weekend," Kenny said. "I haven't done as much rallying as I would have liked this year, because I've been working a lot in the family business. But hopefully George and I can go out and have a bit of fun this weekend."

The pair, who contested the entire British Rally Championship together in 2007, will be using the same K-Motion supported Geoff Jones Motorsport run Subaru Impreza N12 that they used to great effect last season.

Using some of the classic Rally GB stages, which will once again be included in the route this year, the Mid Wales Stages sees crews tackle competitive tests in the likes of Maherin, Tarenig and Sweet Lamb.

The rally begins on Sunday morning from Newtown, and includes a central service area in the Sweet Lamb Rally Complex before returning to Newtown at around 3:30pm for the ceremonial finish.
