Neville Jones and Ian Capewell enjoyed a strong and trouble free outing on last weekends Woodpecker Stages when they returned from a summer break to take a top 15 in class on the dusty Ludlow based event.

The Woodpecker Stages saw Jones debuting a new livery on his Geoff Jones Motorsport run Subaru Impreza N12 and fresh from a summer holiday he enjoyed a steady and consistent run throughout the 45 mile long event, running consistently on the fringes of the top ten in class and gradually upping his pace throughout the day in his Vulcan Fasteners backed Subaru.

“Recently I have struggled with confidence in the car, and spent a day testing with Geoff Jones earlier this week, playing around with different set ups and just dusting off the cobwebs,” he said. “This helped a lot and now, rather than fighting with the Subaru, we are working together, which has helped me a lot today. No spins or moments this weekend makes a pleasant change really!”

This weekends result, ninth registered driver home, means that Jones currently lies seventh in the production class of the BTRDA series, a mere five points off a top five position with two rallies still to go.

The next event for Jones will be the Welshpool based Plains Rally, which utilises some of the great Mid Wales forests such as Pantperthog and Dyfi and is sure to suit his driving style.
