French drivers and teams aside, the World Series is currently controlled by a Pole, as
Robert Kubica and Epsilon Euskadi - which has also helped Felix Porteiro to victory - top their respective points tables. Both drivers may have an ace up their sleeve this weekend, however, as the Basque team will be able to count on the expertise of technical director Michel Lecomte, another well-known figure returning to home soil in Le Mans.
First on the list of other drivers in with a chance of a win this weekend must be Adrian Valles, the Pons Racing driver lying second in the overall standings between Kubica and Gommendy, and the only driver to have finished in the points five times out of five!
Carlin Motorsport's Andreas Zuber, who came so close to success in Valencia, could also be in with a shout, but needs a solid result to get his challenge back on track after being suspended for the Monaco event. Unpredictability shines throughout the field with the winners in Zolder and Monaco - Enrique Toccacelo and Christian Montanari - both off the pace in Spain, while Will Power, Colin Fleming and Giorgio Mondini all seem to have found their feet in recent events.
The one change to the entry list this weekend sees Brazilian Fernando Rees replace Stefano Proetto alongside Daniel la Rosa.at Interwetten.com. The Italian has been missing for the last couple of rounds having been involved in Danielsson's ankle-breaking Zolder crash, and has now decided not to return.
