I'm really working well with the KTR crew, and I had the chance to spend some time with them in Belgium last week. It's important to me that we enjoy a good relationship, both on and off track, and, thankfully, that's turning out to be the case. We all know there's work to be done to improve our qualifying performances; not least this weekend at Misano as, given the nature of the circuit - tight, twisty and narrow - being up at the front of the grid at the start will be crucial to the outcome of the race.
At least now we're really getting into the body of the championship. We've got three race weekends in four weeks, starting with this weekend's races in Italy followed by two more double-header events in Belgium and Germany. It'll be good to finally get into a rhythm following the stop-start nature to the opening three rounds in April, May and June.
That said, I made the most of my time between Turkey and Italy. I went to
Silverstone for the British Grand Prix last month and took some friends to see it from the British Racing Drivers' Clubhouse. They enjoyed being so close to the action as the cars blasted out of the last turn onto the start-finish straight or darted into the pit-lane for their stops. It was fun to be there and, as always, it's a good opportunity to catch up with some people you haven't seen in a while.
I also bought a jet-ski recently, so I've enjoyed having some time to head to the east coast and blast around the sea. It's pretty easy to manoeuvre around the water, but the best work-out you can get is pulling it back up the sand dunes to the car park once you're done! All my trips to the gym are paying off and, hopefully, I'll see more of a return from this weekend's races than I did last time out.
