Guillaume Moreau is looking to go one better at his home round of the World Series by Renault at Magny-Cours after securing his first podium of the season at
Donington Park.
An impressive drive by the Frenchman after breaking his finger in a heavy crash at Spa, Moreau shrugged off the injury to enjoy a strong weekend of racing.
Indeed, despite qualifying a somewhat disappointing 13th after running as high as second in free practice, the KTR driver battled his way up to eighth in the first race to secure himself a spot on the second row for the next race.
Making the most of it, although Moreau slipped to fourth at the start, he quickly found his way past Marco Bonanomi and then benefited from Mikhail Aleshin's off to finish in a season best second position.
It is a result that Moreau is pleased to achieve before he heads to his home round of Magny-Cours next.
"I just missed out on a win at Budapest, I broke my finger at Spa… and here I am on the podium despite messing up my start! I hope my bad luck is behind me now and that I'll do better still at Magny-Cours."
