A third podium in five races puts rookie Julien Jousse up to sixth in the World Series standings.

While the mere thought of victory in his maiden season of World Series by Renault racing would have drawn some surprise glances earlier this year, Julien Jousse is now very much on course to break his duck before the end of the season after continuing his fine run of form at Estoril.

Claiming his first pole position of the season, a poor start and an evil handling car prevented him from challenging winner Miguel Molina, meaning he had to settle for second place.

Nonetheless, second place marks Jousse's third podium in the last five races, the young Frenchman surging up to sixth place in the standings towards the end of what has been an outstanding debut year for the previously little-known driver.

“I got off to a really bad start and I was skidding quite a lot. I was waiting for the pit stop… The car was really difficult to drive and was over-steering a lot. But I'm happy with this third podium finish as it puts me up to sixth place in the championship.”
