Pasquale di Sabatino has announced himself as the first signing to Red Devil Team Comtec's World Series by Renault line-up as he looks to move on from a disappointing 2007 campaign.
The Italian ran with GD Racing last season, scoring just two points, and sees Jonathan Lewis' squad - championship winners in their 2006 debut season - as a step up after watching rookie Alejandro Nunez win one race and score 31 points.
"I am really looking forward to the new season as everyone knows Comtec's potential," di Sabatino - who had been rumoured to join RC Motorsport, commented, "It is an extraordinary team, well organised and with so much desire to repeat the success of 2006.
"It is an opportunity that I will seize with both hands, as I am determined to be at the top of the championship this year. I know that, to succeed, I have to immerse myself in the British way of doing things, and will move to live as close to the team as possible. Speaking English will not be a problem, and having been in the World Series for a year already, I have done my learning on the track. This will be the year where I mount a serious challenge - I can't wait to get started!"
