Fairuz Fauzy defies his lack of experience in new car by taking third at Monaco.

Fairuz Fauzy marked his comeback to the World Series by Renault with an impressive drive to third for Fortec Motorsport at Monaco.

Having been sat on the sidelines since race winning turn in the GP2 Asia Series, Fauzy made his return in style by qualifying third and holding that position to the chequered flag, scoring Fortec Motorsport's best result of the season.

A particularly good performance given that Fauzy has not driven the new World Series machine this year, the Malaysian driver is excited by the prospect of what the rest of the season can deliver, particularly as he heads to the next round at Silverstone as one of the few drivers who recognise the British circuit.

“This was my comeback to the category and I was driving a new car that I'd never driven before, so I wasn't expecting to be up on the podium. It augurs well for the rest of the season. I can't wait for Silverstone. I live over there so it will be like a home race for me.”
