Ultimate Signature swept to the top of the timesheets on the second day of World Series by Renault free practice at Le Mans, although rainy conditions meant no-one topped Marco Barba's best lap from yesterday.

Esteban Guerrieri proved fastest in the morning session, more than half a second quicker than Nurburgring winner Miguel Molina, while Charles Pic – winner in the wet at Monaco – continued to show off his prowess in slippery conditions in third.

Championship leader Giedo van der Garde kept himself well in contention in fourth, ahead of James Walker, Fabio Carbone and day one pace setter Barba. Paolo Nocera was an impressive eighth best on his second outing for RC Motorsport, while Pasquale di Sabatino and Mikhail Aleshin rounded out the top ten.

Later in the day it was Carbone's turn to top the timesheets, the Hungaroring and Nurburgring winner resisting the attentions of Aleshin and Marco Bonanomi this time.

Pic maintained his good form again to go fourth best, while Marcos Martinez, Guerrieri, van der Garde, Molina, walker and Bertrand Baguette completed the top positions.

Qualifying will take place tomorrow, as will race one, with the second race – complete with pit-stop – taking place on Sunday.
