James Walker fails to score in Portugal.

James Walker is eager to end his World Series by Renault season on a high after another disappointing outing in the latest round at Estoril.

Having almost won at Le Mans before a punctured intercepted, Walker was confident of a good performance around a circuit he has experience of from 2007.

However, after showing top ten pace in practice, Walker missed on a shot at Superpole before being stuck in traffic in the battle for the positions on the cusp of the top ten. Furthermore, his hopes of a strong finish were ended when he was punted off by Alexandre Marsoin.

Starting at the back of the grid for the second race as a result, Walker fought hard but could only make up enough ground to reach 14th.

“Results-wise I'm pretty disappointed after the promise we showed at Le Mans,” the Fortec driver said. “We only just missed out on Superpole but I was pleased to be quicker than my team-mate. The racing is very hard and very close at Estoril and I was glad to be consistently quick. We are still improving and we hope to carry that through to Barcelona.”

Walker's non-score means he has slipped to 16th in the overall standings.
