Race Reports: Sunday 17th June Larkhall.

Thursday, 21st June 2007

Five weeks on from the washout at Shenington the BRDC Stars of Tomorrow Karting Championship roared back into life at the Summerlee International Raceway in Larkhall with the series enjoying considerably better raceday weather on its annual trip north of the border.

Three solid results were enough to give Hawksworth pole position for the final with Wrathall alongside on row one and Hibbert and Moore on row two. Hawksworth and Wrathall traded the lead several times in the early going before Hibbert passed both to take the lead on lap four.

Hibbert withstood Wrathall’s advances for several laps before finally conceding the lead for good on lap eight. Wrathall then controlled the pace from the front as Hibbert and Hawksworth duked it out for second. Hawksworth grabbed the spot on the final lap, relegating Hibbert to third.

Behind the top three Nigel Moore finished fourth on the road but was later disqualified handing the place to Borton with Eastwood completing the top five.
